Client Optimization

Validator economics are linear in vote-credit rate and inverse in skip rate. Most operators leave 5–15% of their potential rewards on the table because their client, hardware, or network configuration isn't tuned for current Solana load characteristics.

Client Optimization is a managed service: Blockspace's validator team analyzes your operator profile and applies tuning that lifts the metrics that matter.

What it covers

  • Solana client configuration — Agave, Firedancer, or Jito-Solana parameters tuned for your hardware, stake weight, and region.
  • Operating system tuning — kernel network buffers, NIC settings, NUMA pinning, hugepages, scheduler choice.
  • Network position — peering, relay placement, and ingress optimization for shred reception.
  • Vote-tx delivery — landing-rate optimization for vote transactions, the quiet driver of vote-credit growth.
  • Identity protection — sentinel + identity-rotation playbooks for high-stake operators.

How it works

  1. Audit (week 1) — read-only access to your operator's metrics endpoints; we benchmark current performance against a peer cohort of comparable stake/region.
  2. Recommendations (week 2) — written report with specific, ordered changes. Each change has an estimated impact on vote-credit rate, skip rate, or shred reception latency.
  3. Implementation (weeks 3–6) — you apply changes (or we apply them with your sudo approval). Each change is followed by a 24h observation window.
  4. Continuous tuning — monthly review of metrics; net-new tuning ships as the network evolves (Firedancer, new client versions, etc.).

Pricing

Two engagement models:

  • One-time tune-up — flat fee. Audit + recommendations + a single implementation cycle. Roughly 4 weeks end-to-end.
  • Ongoing optimization — monthly retainer. Includes one-time tune-up plus continuous metric monitoring and quarterly re-tuning. Recommended for operators with >1M SOL stake.

Live pricing is in the dashboard under the Validator role.

What measurable lift to expect

These ranges are typical, not guarantees:

  • Vote-credit rate — +0.5% to +2.0% for previously well-tuned operators; +3% to +8% for operators with no prior tuning.
  • Skip rate — −20% to −60% relative reduction.
  • Shred reception latency — −10ms to −40ms median, depending on starting point.

Concrete numbers for your operator profile come out of the audit phase.

Eligibility

  • Solana mainnet validators with at least one full epoch of operating history.
  • Identity verification (vote pubkey).
  • Read access to your metrics endpoints during audit.

No requirement to use any other Blockspace product to qualify, though most operators stack Client Optimization with Searcher Connection to compound the lift.

Get started

  1. Open the dashboard → Validator → Client Optimization → Apply.
  2. Submit operator metadata (vote pubkey, region, current client, stake weight).
  3. The validator team confirms eligibility within 2 business days and schedules the audit.
